The Local Spots, Spotted: Official Contest Rules
1. Sponsor and contest period
The Local Spots, Spotted (the “Contest”) is run by Sam Parker, creator of CityScape Vancouver, Vancouver, British Columbia (the “Sponsor”). The Contest is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by Kickstarter, Instagram or Meta, or by any business that hosts a Local Spots card stand.
The Contest is open from October 12, 2026 to November 26, 2026 at 9am Pacific (the “Contest Period”). Entries received outside the Contest Period are not eligible.
2. Who can enter
The Contest is open to legal residents of British Columbia who are 19 or older when they enter. Residents of Quebec are not eligible.
The Sponsor, the Sponsor’s immediate family and household members, and the owners and staff of businesses hosting a Local Spots card stand may not win a prize.
3. How to enter
No purchase or Kickstarter pledge is necessary to enter or win. Local Spots cards are free at participating businesses while supplies last, one per person, per spot. Buying something at a host business does not improve your chances.
- Collect Local Spots cards at participating businesses and CityScape meetups, listed at cityscapevancouver.net.
- Take one photo showing all the different Local Spots cards you have collected, with every card face clearly visible.
- Share the photo to your Instagram Story from a public account, and tag @cityscapegame and each business whose card is in the photo.
The Sponsor reshares each tagged story to @cityscapegame and saves it to a Local Spots highlight, which is the record of entries. A saved entry stays valid after your own story expires. To be reshared, your account must be public and allow your stories to be shared. You can share an updated story at any time during the Contest Period as you collect more cards. Only your most recent eligible entry counts, and each person may enter with one Instagram account only.
Your account must stay public until winners are confirmed so the Sponsor can check your entry.
4. Entries
Your number of entries depends on how many different Local Spots cards appear in your photo. These thresholds are fixed for the whole Contest Period, even if more businesses join as hosts.

Three entries is the maximum per person. Duplicate cards count once. Cards from CityScape meetups count toward these totals the same as cards from host businesses.
Anyone who collects every Local Spots card listed on the Local Spots page when the Contest closes, meetup cards included, receives a keepsake card as a thank-you for completing the set. The keepsake is not a prize and is not part of the draw.
5. Prizes
There are three prizes. Each is the CityScape Vancouver Developer tier: the base game, the Portfolio Pack of 15 holographic cards, a playmat, and a set of four street sign tokens. Each prize has an approximate retail value of $125 CAD, for a total of $375 CAD.
Prizes ship with Kickstarter rewards, currently estimated for April 2027, to an address in British Columbia. Shipping is included.
Prizes are awarded only if the CityScape Vancouver Kickstarter campaign reaches its funding goal. If it does not, no prizes are awarded and no draw takes place.
Prizes must be accepted as awarded. They cannot be exchanged for cash and cannot be transferred. If a prize component becomes unavailable, the Sponsor may substitute one of equal or greater value.
6. Draw and winners
Three winners will be drawn at random from all eligible entries by December 3, 2026, in Vancouver, British Columbia. Each person can win one prize only. Your chances of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Winners will be contacted by Instagram direct message to the account on their entry. To claim a prize, a winner must reply within seven days of being contacted, confirm they meet the eligibility rules, and correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question without help.
If a winner can’t be reached within seven days, doesn’t meet the rules, or doesn’t answer the question correctly, they forfeit the prize and a new winner is drawn from the remaining entries. Winners’ first names and Instagram handles may be announced on @cityscapegame.
7. General conditions
- Entries that are incomplete, shared from a private account, edited to fake cards, or made using more than one account are not eligible.
- The Sponsor decides questions about eligibility and card counts, and those decisions are final.
- The Sponsor may change or end the Contest if something outside its control affects how it runs fairly, such as a technical failure or tampering. Any change will be posted at cityscapevancouver.net, and the number and value of prizes will not be reduced.
- Personal information collected for the Contest is used only to run it and contact winners, and is deleted within 90 days after the prizes are awarded.
